HOW YOU CAN COMPLAIN

For many organisations lesbian gay & bisexual awareness remains a new area and Navajo are keen to have your feedback. We are aware that mistakes will happen and when they do we want to hear about it so we can support services in correcting them.

The Charter has a procedure to help you make comments and help Charter Marked organisations improve. You can make a complaint about an organisation or a service you have received if they failed to meet the standards you expect.

If you have a complaint about a Charter Marked organisation, please talk about it first to the person who provides the service if at all possible. You can also use this approach for making suggestions about how a service can be improved.

If you feel you cannot make a direct approach, or you felt it was not dealt with appropriately, please put your complaint in writing to Navajo at:

  • A member of Navajo will make an appointment to call or see you within 14 days from the receipt of your complaint. all complaints will be dealt with in confidence. We will inform you what action is being taken within 28 days of the initial complaint. For a serious complaint action can include immediate withdrawal of the Charter Mark from the organisation.

    You will be kept informed of all decisions, action and outcomes.

    WHAT IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH A SERVICE OR ORGANISATION?

    If you are particularly happy with the service provided by an organisation which has the Charter Mark, please contact the organisation itself, or write to Navajo who will gladly forward your comments.

    This will help both the Charter Marked organisation and Navajo to ensure that lesbian, gay and bisexual friendly services are actively recognised and also further developed and available.
